The Sanitation Division collects and disposes of solid wastes for our customers here in Truth or Consequences. We have a fleet of trucks that regularly empty the dumpsters located throughout the City. Oversized items are also picked up regularly, or if you notify us of the need. The Division also operates a landfill for the ecological burial of these wastes. A recycling center is under construction to help conserve our precious landfill capacity. We have a cardboard box recycling system in place at this time. Please contact the Utility office for more information.
We ask you to not put hazardous materials, such as petroleum products, some unused cleaning products or acids, into the dumpsters. Not only does this present a hazard to our truck operators, but overtime, hazardous materials leach through landfill, polluting the soil.
