Library Card

For Library Patrons over the age of 18 years
The Truth or Consequences Public Library does not, at this time, issue physical cards for patrons to carry.  For the purposes of this document, "Library Card" refers to the electronic patron record maintained in the Library's database.

Any individual who can sign his/her full name and has no previous derogatory borrowing record, and who can verify his/her mailing address may apply for a library card.

A new patron may check out up to three items as soon as the application is approved.

No patron may check out items from the Library on any card other than his/her own.

In order to obtain a Library Card, you will need to provide the following:
  1. A Photo ID AND
  2. Mail with a current postmark showing your address OR
  3. A City utility bill showing the current date OR
  4. A valid library card from a New Mexico Library
To clarify, you must have item 1, a photo ID and any one of the other three items to be issued a Library Card.

For Library Patrons under the Age of 18

A parent or guardian of the minor must first obtain a library card.  Once that is done, the parent or guardian must sign the application of their minor child accepting responsibility for the books checked out by the minor should they be lost or damaged.
