Wastewater Division

The Wastewater Division operates and maintains the wells, pumping stations, and water tanks that provide water for the City. We also operate the wastewater pumping stations and wastewater treatment plant that assists in collection and provides treatment for the wastewater that our City generates.

Treated wastewater effluent is then discharged to the Rio Grande River or is diverted to water the City's baseball/soccer field and municipal golf course.

The effluent discharged to the river is of a higher standard than is required by state and federal regulation, and at present, is of a better quality than the water which comes from upstream.
