Solid Waste Division

The Sanitation Division collects and disposes of solid wastes for our customers here in Truth or Consequences. We have a fleet of trucks that regularly empty the dumpsters located throughout the City.

Oversized items are also picked up regularly, or if you notify us of the need. The Division also operates a landfill for the ecological burial of these wastes.

A Recycling Center, which helps conserve our precious landfill capacity, is located at 601 Nadyne Court. We have a cardboard box recycling system in place at this time. Please contact the Utility office for more information.

We ask you to not put hazardous materials, such as petroleum products, some unused cleaning products or acids, into the dumpsters. Not only does doing so present a hazard to our truck operators, but over time, hazardous materials leach through landfill, polluting the soil.

If you have questions pertaining to the proper disposal of certain products, or their hazard status, check out the manufacturer's website and look for MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) info for the product in question.
